DANIEL HUNT

Daniel Hunt is a Toronto/Tkaronto gallerist and the Founder and Director of Hunt Gallery, which opened in Corso Italia in September 2022. From 2015 to 2018, he co-founded and directed Y+contemporary, an artist-run centre in Scarborough, organizing exhibitions, screenings, youth workshops and student critiques. During this period, he curated or co-curated eleven exhibitions and collaborated with organizations including the Art Gallery of Ontario, Images Festival and Luminato Festival.

In 2020, Hunt initiated the plumb, a collectively programmed art space supporting emerging artists, dialogue with established practitioners, and culturally diverse artists and curators. He has served as a Lead Preparator at the Art Museum at the University of Toronto, overseeing installation planning and technical coordination. His commitment to Toronto’s arts community extends to renovating galleries and project spaces, including the plumb, Joys and Pumice Raft, often contributing his expertise freely or at reduced rates to support their development and accessibility.

MELANIE TROJKOVIC

Melanie Trojkovic is the Gallery Director at United Contemporary, a role that allows her to champion the practices of emerging and established artists while creating a platform that supports diverse and underrepresented voices. With a Master of Art Curatorship from the University of Melbourne, Melanie has over fifteen years of experience in the contemporary art industry, working across Canada as well as in Melbourne, Australia, and Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

Acting as a mediator is central to Melanie’s professional practice, fostering meaningful connections between artists and audiences through contemporary art. She is committed to championing local, emerging, and established voices whose work explores universal narratives of identity, memory, and belonging, with the belief that storytelling can foster empathy and understanding. Working within the commercial gallery sector, she aims to create accessible and welcoming opportunities for emerging artists to develop and share their practices.
